CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — Four people were shot Friday evening at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in North Carolina, according to officials.
Three people were in critical condition and one in stable condition following the shooting in Concord, which is about 19 miles (30 kilometers) northeast of Charlotte, according to a statement from the city.

The event was advertised as the city’s 28th annual tree lighting ceremony and was expected to feature Santa and Mrs. Claus, food trucks, the film “The Grinch” and fireworks, according to the city’s website.
“We are praying for the safety of our brave law enforcement officers, first responders, and everyone on the scene,” U.S. Rep. Mark Harris of North Carolina said in a post on the social platform X.

Those "988 SUICIDE HOTLINE" panels on the jumbotron on both sides of his picture, well, I don't know about that. Maybe it makes sense in context, a stadium of Cowboys fans.
I won't bother staying up late to see if SNL has a John Madden impersonator diagramming this play. Ain't happening.

As the trooper began following, he said he observed Kneeland making several unsafe lane changes as he passed vehicles on the tollway.
Kneeland reached speeds “higher than 145 miles per hour,” the report states, before he took the exit for Headquarters Drive.
As Kneeland drove rapidly through an intersection, Hagaman began a pursuit with lights and the siren on but soon lost sight of the vehicle near Lebanon Road...
...Kneeland’s Charger was then located heading southbound on the Dallas Parkway before it struck another vehicle, lost control and crashed in a grassy field.
Kneeland then ran south toward several businesses....

(Breitbart)The University of Alabama-Birmingham announced two football players were stabbed by another member of the team early on Saturday..(GRA:No word on the race of the stabbees.)
Daniel Mincey, an offensive lineman who transferred to the school in May, was arrested and booked on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder in the afternoon, according to Jefferson County Jail records. He was in custody in Birmingham and appeared to be the only UAB player who was arrested Saturday.
(GRA:How many do you want?)
It was not immediately clear if Mincey had legal representation. Attempts to reach family members for comment were not immediately successful.
UAB officials would not confirm that Mincey was involved.
The team’s online roster lists Mincey as a 6-foot-4 redshirt freshman from Pompano Beach, Florida, who was previously at the University of Kentucky.
Mortensen said that once the team decided to play, they focused on their normal game-day routines. He also said counseling was being made available for players who want it.
The coach declined to share further details about the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.
The stabbing occurred on campus at the Football Operations Building.
