By Nicholas Stix
Nick Adams was an actor who achieved some modest success in movies and on tv during the 1950s and ‘60s.
“Nick Adams, best known to audiences as Johnny Yuma of the TV series The Rebel (1959), played leads and supporting parts in many films of the 1950s, often cast in the same ‘troubled young man’ mold as his good friend, James Dean. He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Twilight of Honor (1963). He died in 1968 due to an overdose of drugs he was taking for a nervous disorder.”
The real story: Nick Adams was a heroin addict, whose wife found him dead on the toilet seat, with a needle sticking out of his arm.
He wasn’t taking heroin for a nervous disorder; no doctor ever prescribed heroin for any condition.
Nowadays, I say, “According to imdb,” which may or may not be correct on any given matter.

I look at the reviews once in a while, moreso over a year ago or earlier. That's about it.

"Nick Adams was a heroin addict, whose wife found him dead on the toilet seat, with a needle sticking out of his arm..."
Well I've read a lot about movies, and plenty about Nick Adams, and I never heard THAT one before! The usual story is he overdosed on prescription drugs, and it's unknown whether by accident or intention. Where did you hear the story about heroin? I was a big Adams fan, and I'd hate to think that was the cause of his demise, which was tragic enough!

I checked the book "Suicide In The Entertainment Industry," and the official report from the coroner was overdose of a sedative, most likely intentional.

MORE "HISTORY" AND "LEGENDARY" DESCRIPTIONS ABOUT PEOPLE WE'VE NEVER HEARD OF--JIM FAGAN,STEP UP
(NewsNation) — NBC Sports will be bringing some history to its upcoming NBA broadcasts.
Ahead of its rights deal beginning at the onset of the next NBA season, NBC announced the return of legendary — and deceased — announcer Jim Fagan.
The famed narrator died in 2017. Before his death, Fagan was a beloved figure of NBC’s NBA broadcasts from 1990 to 2002.
(GRA:Really? I've never heard of him.How iconic and legendary is that?)
Fagan’s voice will be used, recreated by AI,after approval from his family.
(GRA:nbc needs to artificially superimpose some decent basketball players in place of the ones viewers are watching now(with their eyes closed)to keep them awake. Obscure voiceover announcers--coming back from the dead--are not the solution to what's ailing the nba.
