Breaking news: M i s t r i a l in Christopher Schurr case
“(Fox17) Grand Rapids, mich. — judge Christina Mims has declared a mistrial in the trial of Christopher Schurr after the jury was unable to reach a verdict.
“for parts of four days, the jury deliberated over whether the former grand Rapids police officer was guilty of second-degree murder or voluntary manslaughter in the death of Patrick Lyoya.
“on tuesday, may 6, judge Mims announced the jury was deadlocked and read to the jurors an instruction — often referred to as the Allen charge — telling them to return to their deliberation.
“ultimately, the twelve could not reach unanimity in the case, causing the judge to declare a mistrial on thursday, may 8.
“the prosecution may now retry the case with a new jury — a potential monthslong [sic] process — dismiss the charges or enter into a plea agreement with the defendant.”
GRA: At the very least, the jury shouldn’t have convicted him. At the most, they should have acquitted him of all charges. I doubt another trial will bring a different outcome, so the bare minimum appears to be enough for Mr. Schurr to avoid prison. No jury count on who was for or against (yet).

Now THAT's worth of Top Story of the Day.
And NOT cardinals blowing woke smoke.
And NOT a two-bit trade deal with a the Caliphate of Britain.
And NOT Buddy RIno announcing a run against Senator Soyboy.
And NOT the one-bit "DOGE" subcommittee ignoring a deficit in the Trillions to have hearings on trans in women's sports.
Hopefully Schurr doesn't get Arberyed.
