correction: story on shooting of two newark cops was allegedly phony; here’s the allegedly true story

The first reports said the shooter “fired from a rooftop with a long gun.”
It turned out the shooter was confronted on the street by the two officers who suspected he was wanted for a prior shooting. The suspect, one Kendall Howard, then pulled out a handgun and shot the officers at point blank range.
Why was the phony story given out? It was on the msm sources.

I recall an episode of "The Three Stooges" where Curly pretends to be a female--married to Moe--to scam the army--and who can't find her baby.Moe comes in to show the army personnel that the baby has been found.They pull the blanket back and the kid is black!
"A little sunburned,"said Moe.
That must be Kendall Howard(lol).
