A Chicago police spokeswoman said Monday there are no updates on the shooting investigation and no arrests have been made.
Chicago homicide (the most serious crime) clearance rate in 2020 was only about 45% (link), meaning if you kill someone in Chicago you have better than a 50:50 chance of getting away with it.
Just like prosecutors rely on plea bargains to close a BIG majority of criminal cases, cops rely on help/tips from the public to catch criminals, and they probably don't get much help from the no-snitch Blacks in Chicago -- still cops in Chicago, including detectives, seem relatively incompetent and are probably heavily non-white -- but along with Chicago teachers, who work in one of the worst performing school districts in the country, they'll go through the motions for as long as needed and then retire with their pensions, which will eventually bankrupt the city (link).
Houston each time I fly to Chicago I expect a lot of colored on the plane. This last time not so much.
