GRAND RAPIDS JOINS IN ON CEMETARY SHOOTING TREND--4PM INCIDENT KILLS ONE
GRA:This particular area is mostly black(aren't they all,it seems?)No reason to think it's a copycat crime--similar to the Bear,Delaware racist double murder--but anything is possible. As of now, just another black on black murder in Grand Rapids,in my opinion.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One person has died from his injuries after a shooting at a cemetery in Southeast Grand Rapids.

Police say the shooting happened around 4 p.m. at Garfield Park Cemetery, located on Kalamazoo Avenue SE between Alger Street and Burton Street.

The male victim was driven to a local hospital but did not survive, GRPD Sgt. Dan Adams said. Neither the victim’s age nor his name were released.

Police do not have a suspect in custody. Information on a motive was not immediately available.

Officers are talking to residents in the neighborhood, looking for tips and surveillance video that may provide more information in the case.

Residents are asked to avoid the area around the cemetery while police investigate.
