I saw the nauseating performance on live stream. It's standard in cases like this for the defendant to "not remember." It's a variation of the Crazy Card. Examples are Sirhan Sirhan who "doesn't remember" killing Bobby Kennedy and the boyfriend, John Sweeney, of Dominick Dunne's actress daughter Dominique.
Sweeney, using weepy testimony, got a jury (Santa Monica) to give him a manslaughter verdict for strangling Dominique Dunne, which took several minutes.. He was out after less than two years.
Yet, the "experts" on Nashville's CBS affiliate acted like it was something new. The prosecution can give a rebuttal case tomorrow. They supposedly have recordings of Samson laughing and joking about the shootings during jail house phone calls with his girlfriend.
