Christian-Newsom case: Eric Boyd still headed to trial in torture killings

Eric Dewayne Boyd has until the end of June to make his final objections before going to trial for the deaths of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom.

Boyd's lawyer is challenging Xavier Jenkins' testimony that he saw the car Boyd borrowed from a cousin parked in front of the house and minutes later saw Christian's 4-Runner with four men inside.

The prosecution says the four were Davidson, Cobbins, Thomas, and Boyd. Jenkins has given the same basic testimony at previous trials.

Judge Bob McGee ruled the jury is supposed to decide whether the witness saw [sic].

The defense has until a June 27 status hearing to challenge the ruling. They also moved to dismiss the case due to Boys [sic] not getting a "speedy trial."

[It's Boyd's own fault he didn't get a speedy trial! He's the one who played the delay game, claiming to be sick. The court ought to fine him, for wasting its time.]

As of now, Eric Boyd is to be tried in August for the torture-murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

It isn't the crime itself but what goes on afterwards that is the real crime. And in this case the crime could not be worse. So what does that say about what has gone afterwards.
