Devon Patrick Kelley, dishonorably discharged a few years ago from the Armed Forces. What do you do about all these guys? It’s got to be addressed even more than gun control. The possibility is there for this to happen in a certain percentage of Vets—recent ones, particularly. Disgruntled black Vets who turn to Islam are another segment. Their familiarity with guns makes it imperative, that we as society, are aware of who is psychologically damaged from serving, and who should not be allowed to have a gun, based on that info. Or do we just wait for this to happen over and over again? Do regular people not have the right to exist? We protect the criminal, violent, bizarre and unproductive people of this country. How about the rest of us?
N.S.: Kelley’s dishonorable discharge nullifies the gin control aspect—it was already illegal for him to own any firearm.

Somewhat similar to the mindset of drunk drivers who have had their licenses suspended, yet repeatedly drive drunk--until they cause "the big accident".
Getting a gun, when you shouldn't have one and getting a car to drive drunk in, must be two of the easiest tasks for a mentally unstable person to overcome. In either case there appears to be no real
impediment for the person who wants to rage against society with either weapon.
The closest family members need to "squeal" to the appropriate professional people,(police, psychologists etc)if suspicious of the deteriorating mental health of their loved ones. This includes suspicion of drug use, interest in radical religions,an overwhelming unhealthy focus/rage on a particular subject.
We have too many mentally ill people in this country to keep track of--more and more of them are choosing murder as the solution to THEIR perceived problems. As with criminals,we need more prisons. With guys like Kelley, you need more mental hospitals...and money to pay for all of it.Looks like Bill Gates and Bezos need to start funnelling their zillions to this area instead of their other ventures(like helping Africa).Just my humble opinion.
