These women hate men. Simple as that. They express it with long tortured works that revolve around their virulent hatred. They are not only too socially maladjusted to have functional hetero relationships, they struggle to find same sex partners so spend their time whipping up anger and hatred toward men hoping to convince young women to choose to be lesbians and increase their potential partner pool.
Both conservative and liberals might have a problem with what I'm about to say but I believe it's true.
Homosexuality is usually innate in men. Men are driven by testosterone and impulse when it comes to sex, they don't think about sexuality, they do what they feel compelled to do, perhaps it's not genetic but something influenced them at an early stage of development and their urges are not conscious. So generally, men do not choose to be gay.
Women, however, are different, psychologically and biologically. They have estrogen which does not drive a woman the way it does a man. Women do think about and rationalize their sexuality, a woman will "decide" to become a homosexual due to external cues. Radical feminists are women and understand this, thus their relentless combining of male bashing with the suggestion that women should be lesbians. Of course, if you suggested that to them they would deny it vigorously, call you homophobic and default to the gay party line that homosexuality is purely genetic.

This is all IMHO, of course but I never see gay men never cite bad relationships with women as a "reason" they became gay.
It's lesbians that associate bad behavior by men as a reason to be a lesbian. They don't always say it directly (though sometimes they just can't help themselves and do), but they do everything they possibly can do to insinuate it.
It's clear there's a contradiction between saying you're born gay but that bastard of an ex husband "made you gay". I've seen that contradiction many times on daytime talk shows from the early era of Donohue to talk shows in this era. Lesbians bashing men and making it clear their homosexuality is revenge against those abusive, cheating men is a stock device on talk shows.
There is some pretty strong evidence suggesting the media has influenced female homosexuality, I've seen stats indicating that 15% of women nowadays claim they are bisexual or lesbian, which is an enormous increase from 40 years ago (pre talk show and lesbian porn being commodified by the mainstream media) when it was 3%.
Male homosexuality 40 yrs. ago was 5%, this era, it's virtually the same - 5%. No change whatsoever. Of course, male homosexuality has not been promoted to underage boys to the degree it has to underage females but it is still strongly presented and hasn't increased male homosexuality statistically. Once men mature past infancy I don't believe they choose to be gay due to environmental factors.
Girls will though, so this blitz of lesbian imagery is an abuse and an exploitation of young female minds. It's not just feminist theorists though, mainstream liberal females as well as males participate in this for their own selfish reasons. Profit is a primary motivation, it seems that the entertainment industry believe that lesbians generate ratings, maybe they do, I don't know, but there is so much gratuitous lesbianism on TV/movies now it seems like over saturation would dilute the subject. Entertainment industry doesn't seem to think so though, can't avoid lesbian soft core porn if you try. We also know our daughters are being exposed to this crap at earlier and earlier ages, which is exactly what the radical and not so radical lesbians want.
