Cancun, Mexico: Mexican Double-Killer Thwarts Justice

Re-posted by Nicholas Stix

HOUSTON -- The man accused of killing a pregnant woman at a Houston gentleman’s club has been arrested in Cancun, officials tell KHOU 11 News.

I thank A Texas Reader, who writes,

He won't get the death penalty as Mexico, which gave the world the Aztecs, human sacrifice, and cannibalism, will not extradite those who face the death penalty.

He'll get 20 years to life in Huntsville.

Which means I'll be paying for his 24-hour per day babysitting till he bites the big enchilada.

If you view it merely as a utilitarian cost/benefit comparison Nic research shows it costs millions to execute a murderer so in terms of money keeping him caged for a few decades is far cheaper. Cold comfort I know.
