The New York Mets Narrowly Avoid Defeat at the Hands of the Washington Nationals; Winning Streak Remains Alive!

By Nicholas Stix

The game was rained out, thus preserving the Mets’ (23-33) one-game winning streak!

The Mets have a regularly scheduled loss tomorrow (Friday) at 7:10 p.m. at their corporate-sponsored ballpark. They are scheduled to lose to the 16-44 Florida Marlins, who are the worst team in baseball when playing any team but the Mets, who make the Marlins look like the 1998 Yankees.

The Mets aren't what they were in 1986, are they?

I'm looking at the overall league wide standings on ESPN. And guess who's at the top?

The Mets and Cubs? Page down, page down, page down, page down...oh, there they are.
