“The chronically underestimated Kamala Harris”

By N.S.

I knew Jim Geraghty’s name, but had rarely read him, and what I’d read had made no lasting impression, one way or the other.

Well, the title above is the title of his “thing” on the illegally elected and notoriously imbecilic vice-president.

Geraghty quotes powerful democrats as having referred to Harris as “intelligent,” or even “brilliant,” but provides no evidence of her being bright. He also quotes someone as having said that there’s something special to Harris’ mere presence. Geraghty also seems to believe that the fact that powerful white, male democrats have supported Harris somehow proves that she must have something on the ball, as if the past over sixty years hadn’t to a large degree been a history of powerful white, male democrats supporting black, racist, male imbeciles, not to mention black, racist, female imbeciles, and racist imbeciles of other races.

“But there’s this nagging complication — if Kamala Harris is as stupid as her critics claim, why does she have the Democratic presidential nomination and a roughly 50–50 shot of being the first female president in U.S. history? Do you know how many ruthlessly ambitious Democratic men and women have desperately yearned to get where she is? How many smart, tough, shrewd, often underhanded and cold-blooded pols have tried to claw their way up the greasy pole and fallen short?”

“And somehow this supposed dunce managed to do it?”

As at least one commenter pointed out, the other “ruthlessly ambitious Democratic men and women” were all White.

And everything had been handed to her.

Geraghty lives in a bizarro world, parallel universe, in which things mean the opposite of what they really mean. He claims that her breaking up with Willie Brown meant that her political career was independent.

Commenters nail him on most of his nonsense, but nobody mentions that Harris is only presently in the white house, due to The Big Steal. I have no idea if that’s because no remaining national review readers believe that, and/or all who did were chased from the neo-con publication.

In any event, this “thing” is not exactly a recommendation for reading William F. Buckley Jr.’s old rag, whether paying for the privilege, or for free.

Geraghty needs to be locked in a room and forced to listen to a loop of Kamalababble about Venn diagrams, that which is possible and has been, etc.

Remember when it was generally accepted that Obama was "smart"? Then came that great day when Rush said, out loud and on the air, something like this: "I don't think he's really very smart at all." What a refreshing breakthrough moment for me.
