The NFL WANTS and DEMANDS quotas on all new coaching hires. Interviews with applicants at a minimum. I bet coach here had some dispute with head office and owner about this and the dispute became a big-blow up, or else ultimatum.

ReplyDeleteIs this why Brady retired, then unretired? There were rumors of friction between him and Arians so maybe there was some kind of behind the scenes deal to get rid of Arians and replace him with somebody else. I could see the owner and team management choosing Brady over Arians, after all, there's on one GOAT but plenty of coaches to choose from. I doubt Brady cared if it was a black coach but I could see him wanting a passive coach who would allow him to call the shots. Who knows, maybe "shadow coach" Brady would be better for the team.
