Final Guilty Plea in George Baker III Beating Death

On Friday, September 16, Vernon Jackson, the last of George Leroy Baker III’s killers pleaded guilty.

Mr. Baker, age 81, was beaten to death on September 5, 2010. He was in Lynchburg, Virginia to attend his granddaughter’s wedding. It was also the birthday of Vernon Jackson, “the boy who pleaded guilty Friday.”

The other killers were Kenneth Davis Jr. and D’Antonio Davis.

In the plea agreement, Jackson pled to a reduced charge of second-degree murder. Jackson, now 17, testified against his co-defendants as part of the agreement.

‘“Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Jeff Bennett explained during the hearing that if the case had gone to trial, Jackson’s lawyer would have argued that admissions made to police weren’t properly obtained and shouldn’t be heard by a jury.”

The three boys, two 16-year-olds and a 13-year-old, attacked the senior Baker in the 1100 block of Main Street. According to testimony in their cases, the boys were with a group of about a dozen teens that evening who walked from Park Street near the Kemper Street Station along the Blackwater Creek trail way to the riverfront, then through downtown. Some of the teens testified Kenneth Davis Jr., now 17, was drinking and acting aggressively. They testified he told the teens he was going to attack the next person he saw in order to impress some girls in the group.

Jackson also testified Kenneth Davis threatened him, telling him and another boy they had better join in the attack.

Bennett told Judge Mosby Perrow Friday that Jackson told police “he was scared, but he didn’t want to look like a punk.”

Jackson has testified Kenneth Davis struck Baker first, punching him and knocking him to the ground. He testified he kicked Baker in the ribs. According to testimony in the cases, D’Antonio Davis, now 14, kicked Baker in the head.

“Any of the injuries inflicted to Mr. Baker alone could have been fatal,” Bennett told the judge.

D’Antonio Davis was convicted and sentenced in April to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice until his 21st birthday.

Because Jackson and Kenneth Davis were both older than 14 at the time of the slaying, they were automatically prosecuted as adults under state law. The law leaves open the provision for juvenile sentencing, but Kenneth Davis was also convicted of first-degree murder earlier this year and sentenced in May to 35 years in prison.

Jackson will be sentenced on December 16.

N.S.: White teenagers also do stupid things when they are in a group, but they almost never involve murdering people, particularly old people, much less stomping them to death.

Stomping whites to death has in recent years become a very popular style of black-on-white murder. That some victims survive the attack, with horrific injuries and often lifelong after-effects, takes nothing away from this as a method of murder. Everyone on the street, or who deals with such injuries, or the people inflicting them, knows that surviving such an attack is pure luck. (This writer has endured at least two such attacks; I’m not sure whether in a third attack, I was repeatedly punched in the head while on the ground, or kicked.)

Racist, black-on-white stomping attacks also enjoy the implicit support of black supremacist race hoaxer, Al Sharpton. After racist black thug and persistent felony offender Mychal Bell committed attempted murder, in an unprovoked sucker punch and stomping attack against white student Justin Barker on December 4, 2006, in Jena, Louisiana, the Jena Hoax was born, to defend Bell and his racist accomplices. A nationwide movement predominantly made up of racist blacks, though with influential support from (racist) white leftists supported Justin Barker’s attackers, which culminated in a Nuremberg-style rally of 20,000 racist blacks in Jena, on September 20, 2007.

Sharpton gave a speech that day, in which he held up a sneaker, and to the howling laughter of thousands of black supremacists, mocked the idea that a sneaker could be a murder weapon. (While Mychal Bell was convicted for a lesser felony assault count for his attempted murder of Justin Barker, thanks likely to the black racist movement in support of Bell, Bell received no punishment for the crime.)

News reports have all claimed that, just prior to murdering George Baker, Kenneth Davis announced that “he was going to attack the next person he saw.” If you believe that quote, I have a great deal for you on a slightly used bridge.

When I got my first Internet-adaptable pc in January, 2000, a few Web sites specialized in chronicling racist black-on-white murders going back to the 1980s, in which the killers were quoted by the press as having said that they would kill the next white that crossed their path. I can’t remember the last time I read or heard a news report that quoted a black killer saying that. And yet, the blacks murdering whites and Asians via stomping and sucker punch (aka “Knockout King”) attacks never seem to attack other blacks in this fashion, even though they live in neighborhoods in which most or all of their neighbors are black.

These are racially motivated attacks, and the media—and law enforcement, too—are clearly covering up their true character. But all the pathetic cover-ups do is alert the white public that the media and law enforcement support racist, black killers, and thus are also their enemies.

George Leroy Baker III’s granddaughter and her husband will never be able to enjoy their wedding anniversaries, because each will always be the anniversary of her grandfather’s murder.

  1. This thug is 17? He looks 25 or even 30. Could this be a mistake? I'm just shocked at the brutality...

  2. It's difficult to keep up with these kinds of criminal cases. One, there are so many of them. Two, the MSM doesn't cover them so you have to do google searches for news every once in a while.

There is still a sentencing in December for this defendant in the George Baker murder. The next Pearcy Massacre trial takes place next month.

A motion for a new trial hearing for the Knoxville Horror ringleader is scheduled for October. I plan on attending if I can.

Nkosi Thandiwe, the suspect in the Brittney Watts murder, is just starting his way through the system. Despite being pretty much open and shut, it will take years.

You would need a staff as large as the New York Times to follow these and other cases, which is a somewhat ironic way to put it.

  3. Anon,

Now that you mention it, he does look awfully old. Like he' already been practicing his yardbird look for years.

  4. David,

Impossible! it would get in the way of covering same-sex nuptials.

As overwhelmed as we are trying to cover this tidal wave of crime, just imagine what the courts and penal system are going through. And it's only going to get worse.

I suppose the prisons will get a temporary reprieve, when they let all the cut-throats out--but those of us without gangs of cut-throats at our beck and call (e.g., Bloomberg) will then be the condemned!

  5. I live in Lynchburg. These kids are associated with the Bloods. One of them was wearing red and flashing gang signs on his facebook page and wore red to his trial. He will go down as a hero to his homies for killing a white man.
