"(detroit free press) a quadruple shooting at a gas station on detroit's west side on july 28 took the lives of a man and woman, and left two more women hospitalized or treated for injuries.

"in an unrelated, earlier shooting on the night of sunday, july 27, on the east side, a 6-year-old boy was caught in gunfire and also killed. in that case, police said they were looking for a red jeep, a black sedan and a third vehicle that might have been involved."

[N.S.: Not a single vehicle was "involved."]
