Good afternoon! Here's the latest:

It's Day 23 of the "cleanup" at the 16th St BART station, and yes, the side streets looked cleaner this morning. But some residents say police officers fail to patrol. "I do not see any noticeable work ethic from the police," wrote one. "I see a steely presence that does not engage with anyone." 

The Latino Task Force, born from the crisis of the pandemic, turns five this year. Junyao Yang looks at its new generation of leaders, mostly young women, who are stepping up to meet the needs of the moment.

  2. Check out that MISSION LOCAL logo, "local news for a global city".

    There's your problem, kiddies. Too much "global" got into your "local".

    And electing people who thought that these income tax rates would be the solution. Plus 37% top rate for Feds.
