I looked up Francisco Alvarez, the Mets' fat, slugging, but low-hitting catcher at baseball reference, oneof the Mets players who refuse to speak english.
The site used to give each player's date and place of birth at the top of the page, but stopped doing that a few years ago. God forbid it should make it easier for users to learn things.
Way down the page, we get rhetorical questions.
"Where was Francisco Alvarez born?
"Francisco Alvarez was born in guatire, miranda.
"How tall is Francisco Alvarez?
"Francisco Alvarez is 5-10 (178 cm) tall."
Alvarez isn't 5'10." He's 5'8" or 5'9." And where is "miranda"? That a country? I've never heard of it. Thus, baseball reference forced me to check a search engine, where I learned that miranda is a city in venezuela.
Why wouldn't baseball reference tell us that?
And what does that make miranda, his neighborhood? I'm not checking that one out. I already wasted enough time for one day.

Where is miranda?
ReplyDeleteIt's in the Mets' clubhouse.Rich spicanos there.
Not sure if the mets have as many non-enhlish speaking players as they used to have. There appears to be a trend toward SLIGHTLY LESS spicanos(?)
Could be wrong.
