“waldorf man charged in stealing forklift from Lowe’s, fatally wounding woman in home depot parking lot”
…. “authorities said 20-year-old Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown, of Waldorf, allegedly broke into the store, stole a forklift and rammed it through the rear gates. He then left the Lowe's on the forklift and took it over to the Home Depot on Jefferson Farm Place. That's where the sheriff's office said he rammed the forklift into a car.
“Gloristine Pinkney, 73, of Waldorf was sleeping inside the car at the time. Pinkney tried to run away, but Brown allegedly followed her on the forklift and struck her. Brown then took the woman’s car and fled the area, the sheriff's office said.
“officers who were investigating the Lowe’s burglary found the forklift at home depot. that’s when they discovered the woman underneath it. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“police don’t believe Pinkney and Brown knew each other.
“after pursuing a number of leads, detectives identified Brown as the suspect. He was arrested sunday evening after the victim’s vehicle was spotted near the suspect’s home.
“Brown was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault, theft, and other related charges. He is currently being held at the Charles county detention center without bond.”
