Duane Patterson, 61, was at work on Christmas Eve when he was accosted by the suspect - who punched the bouncer and knocked him to the ground.

ReplyDeleteA 61 year old bouncer? I'm 62 and despite years in the dojo and boxing gym, would be scared to death to work as a bouncer. I actually did the job, briefly, as a young man but being 5' 10" and 150 lbs. my physical presence didn't exactly strike fear into the hearts of drunk bar patrons so my career in the field didn't last long. At that age reflexes and ability to withstand punishment has declined immensely, even if you stay in tip top condition. Plus, aggressive young drunks will see a gray haired older man, even if he's kind of big, and feel emboldened to act out physically...I mean, in his mind he's thinking how can some old guy take him? Seems very questionable that any bar would hire a man that old to be a bouncer, I sure wouldn't if I owned a bar.
Probably over something trivial or totally nonexistent just in the mind of the perpetrator
