  1. Columbia students mourning the death of Davide Giri at a vigil on Dec. 3, 2021.

White people are very good at holding vigils -- they're pros really.

Sources have said they also are eyeing Pinkney in the stabbing of another man in the area less than a day earlier. ... That victim, German tourist Thomas Ambühler, 43, told The Post he needed 10 stitches in his neck after he was knifed around 12:30 a.m. Thursday just outside Morningside Park. ... Ambühler said he and his boyfriend were near the corner of West 110th Street and Manhattan Avenue when a man wearing a baseball cap ran toward them.

    Yuck.

Anyway, this reminds me of the knife attack on a pair of homosexual men in Dresden by a Syrian in 2020:

Angriff auf schwules Paar -- Dresden: Prozess gegen syrischen Islamisten

    One of them died.

The Syrian was given a 'life' sentence ('Lebenslang'):

Lebenslang für tödliche Messerattacke auf schwules Paar

Which in DE, as in most of Europe, typically means he'll be released after 12-15 years or so -- in fact, the article specifically mentions this is normal:

Zudem stellten die Richter auch die besondere Schwere der Schuld fest. Damit wäre eine vorzeitige Haftentlassung des Syrers nach 15 Jahren praktisch ausgeschlossen.

Since the judge said the crime was especially severe, probably because Schwulenhass was apparently the motive, release after 15 years is unlikely.

But if it had been a killing committed during a 'robbery gone wrong' or something like that, he'd be out in 12-15 years, and go right back to being supported by German taxpayers -- guaranteed.
