"Westchester County Man" Charged in 1999 Murder of 13-Year-Old Girl

[Re: “Forget CSI! Forensic Science Has Revolutionized Crime-Fighting, but is being Increasingly Destroyed by the Affirmative Action Hiring of Non-White “Scientists” Who are Both Incompetent and Malicious.”]

The girl’s vicious slaying remained a cold case until detectives used DNA evidence to link her disappearance to Martinez, who lived in the same building as her family, sources said.

I suspect external genetic forensics consultants had a lot more to do with breaking this case than the detectives; it would be interesting to know who helped them with the DNA analysis.

As perhaps I mentioned before, Steve Hsu, a professor of physics at Mich State, and others are involved in a genetic forensics company called Othram:

Othram — Justice through Genomics

They specialize in such “cold cases” – searching his blog for the term “cold case” turns up a list of crimes Othram has helped solve —to Information Processing – search term: “cold case”
