Years ago I saw a story online about a brutal robbery of an older woman (the victim was hospitalized); per the article, the police were appealing for help to identify/apprehend the perps–there there was a pretty detailed description of their clothes and the vehicle they were driving (a white Ford pickup: I still remember)–but literally nothing about the perps themselves – so I emailed the lady reporter to ask about that – she replied right away that the perps were described as Hispanic, she had included that info in her original copy, but it was removed by an editor – she gave me the name/email of the editor and suggested I ask them.
This happened right around the time the general public began to be aware that crime stories were being censored so as not to “reinforce stereotypes” – so it was nice to get a confirmation about the practice, as well as how far they were prepared to go, i.e., to remove the description of at-large suspects wanted for a serious violent crime against someone vulnerable.
I got the impression the lady reporter was not too happy about the whole business, and this was not the first time it had happened to her.
N.S.: So, even when you find an honest msm crime reporter, she’s overruled by her evilist editor. And who knows if the reporter is even in the business anymore.
