Lee Remick, in Anatomy of a Murder

Speaking of Lee Remick, TCM shows Anatomy of a Murder (1959) at 11:45 p.m. ET tonight (Monday).

The key to the trial in the story is finding the Lee Remick character’s panties. This always reminds me of Ted Kennedy’s Chappaquiddick victim, Mary Jo Kopechne. She had no underwear on when her body was pulled from the water. There was never word on whether she had left them back at her hotel room.

In 1962, Marilyn Monroe was fired from Something’s Got to Give for being tardy, disruptive, in a drugged haze, etc. Lee Remick was to replace her. Her body would fit Monroe’s clothes, though Lee Remick was taller at 5’7.”

Dean Martin demanded Monroe be rehired and she was, but died of an overdose of sleeping pills and alcohol. The film was never made.

Lee Remick, who died of cancer in 1991, was naturally gorgeous and unlike Monroe, was a serious actress. She was excellent in Anatomy of a Murder. I record it on my DVR, every time it comes on.

N.S.: I referred to Joseph Welch as “judge,” because my mom has always referred to him that way. Welch never was a judge in real life, but apparently his excellent performance as one in this picture made such an impression on socialists and communists that many of them assumed he was one.

Well, the man always had acting talent.

  1. Someone posted a meaningless comment somewhere:The number of years from 1939 to 1980 are equal to the number of years from 1980 to 2021.I thought it was meaningless until I thought about it.

Look at what has changed in each 41 year period--EVERYTHING.

A large part of it from the late 60s on,to about 10 or so years ago,we were still a decent country to live in.9/11,Bush,Obama and now Biden have ramped up the pace of destruction.

It's only going to get worse(Sorry,I lost my rose colored glasses recently.)
