Getting vaccinated is a personal health choice, not a public safety one.

It’s coming more and more—if you are not vaccinated, you will be ostracized. Next step will be mandatory vaccination with more and more draconian penalties for those that resist.
The ignorance of the people we trust with authority is astounding, though not surprising. They have not been following the latest CDC announcements, and don’t understand what the vaccination really does. They think it’s some kind of magic barrier that keeps the virus out of your body, which is not true. All the vaccine does is eliminate or reduce symptoms. The virus still enters your body and replicates, and you are just as infectious as an unvaccinated person during that process.
NSU readers know that because we’ve been directed to the Director of the CDC Rochelle Walensky when she announced that finding on cnn, but for some reason, few people in the public are aware of this latest announcement and what it means. I think that is why our public officials are reinstating mask mandates but they are not informing us that being vaccinated does not keep you from contracting the virus and being infectious.
Telling vaccinated people that they are still infected and passing the virus on but can’t tell because the vaccine is suppressing their symptoms would call into question the need for everybody to be vaccinated. It’s a personal health choice, not a public safety one.
I’ve actually been having a bit of fun with the CDC announcement. I keep it on my phone, and show it to everyone I know. It’s interesting to see the reactions. They can’t argue because it’s the director of the CDC but they can’t accept it, either, because it flies against everything they’re being told by the media. I recommend everyone to do that. It’s important to inform everybody of the truth, plus it’s always amusing to watch their faces, as they wrestle with the contradiction.
Nothing more important than football. A must to get the shots now. And the booster too.
ReplyDeleteWhen are cable companies going to force customers--who want to watch Oregon Duck football on TV--prove vaxx status before they're allowed access to the programming?
ReplyDeleteThat's so dystopian that if someone in power should read this, they'd probably implement it immediately.
Exaggeration is not to be taken as AN ACTUAL IDEA!

ReplyDeleteI should add: After I show people the CDC video, the argument they end up defaulting to is pointing out the news headlines about hospitals "swamped with Covid patients" and how not taking the vaccine is still killing people because you non vaxxed are clogging up the health system. Then they say something like: "If you get sick with Covid, then don't go the hospital, just stay home and die".
I then tell them that, even if true, that hospitals are crowded with Covid patients, they are almost all elderly with pre existing conditions of some kind and if you are healthy, and especially young and healthy that your chances of having an extreme reaction to the virus needing hospital care is almost exactly the same as having and extreme reaction to the vaccine.
Then I offer them a counter deal, I say if you agree to not go to the hospital if you have an immediate extreme reaction to the vaxx, or seek out medical care if you have some kind of long term side effect from the vaxx, then I will agree to not go to the hospital if I get Covid. Deal?
