Your cell phone probably will be our best defense against the promises of massive amnesties and eliminating a lot of enforcement following the Biden inauguration on Wednesday.

DEAR FRIENDS,

If you aren't worried about an immigration catastrophe this winter and spring, you aren't paying attention (paraphrasing the late, great Terry Anderson).
More likely, though, you are fully aware of the dangers posed by the major immigration bill promised by the new President on "Day One," and you are feeling concerned, frightened and maybe even angry.
The question is always how to channel our concerns -- and anger -- most effectively into constructive results. The answer, obviously, is never through violence, or even rude conversations. (NumbersUSA's mission has always been to provide a "civil forum" to deal with immigration policies.)
Your NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team tells me:
The most effective way to get your voice heard to stop the damaging immigration proposals is going to be through your cell phone -- being alerted quickly through your cell phone and then using it to engage your Congress Members' staffers in short, courteous conversations.
Your NumbersUSA Executive Vice President Anne Manetas offers some assurance that WE will also promise to be courteous to YOU:
Rest assured that we are sensitive to not overloading you with extra text messages.

By providing us with your mobile number, you will allow us to contact you in urgent legislative situations when your voice can be most powerful. We will continue to rely on our traditional email messages for the majority of our communication.

As you likely know, text messaging is quickly replacing email as the fastest means of communicating. Text messaging alerts also allow for one-click access to the Capitol Hill switchboard and other actions.

Thank you for being an important part of the collective voice for sensible immigration policies.
If you've never phoned a congressional office, we'll make it super easy for you to do. But we really need all of you to help on this. We are unlikely to stop massive numbers of new permanent residents without massive grassroots phoning.
Talking to congressional staffers is almost like leaving short messages on an answering machine. They want your (1) name, (2) maybe where you live, (3) the bill you are calling about, and (4) what you want the Senator or Representative to do on it. That's all you HAVE to say. (For those of you who would like to say more, I shouldn't have to persuade you to make the call.)
And, yes, you can be passionate and civil at the same time.
Speaking of "passionate,"let me just say:

Be prepared for Pres. George W. Bush all over again.

You know, the President with the mantra of "any willing foreign worker for any willing U.S. employer."
That was a recipe for importing workers until U.S. wages fell to at least the world average.
The only way to stop the new Pres. Biden from fulfilling the promises of Bush the Second and the fantasy dreams of rapacious corporate owners is going to be -- well, I think you know the answer.
