Charged with Murder: Man Accused of Shooting Ex-Wife's Boyfriend to Death While She was Picking Up Her Kids

N.S.: "There was a verbal dispute." "A fight broke out." "Gun violence broke out."

Those are just cops' talking points. If one man assaults another, they say, "a fight broke out," to eliminate legal and moral responsibility.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Evans with a gunshot wound. First responders performed CPR and took the victim to a nearby hospital. Evans was pronounced dead by medical staff and his family has been notified, police say.

“There is no other way to describe this senseless murder other than to call it an execution,” said Police Chief Eric Payne in a news release.

Officers say they found the suspect car around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday on the city’s West Side. Police tried to stop the car but it drove off. The car eventually crashed on Hamilton Avenue and 11th Street NW, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.
