Trump Drug "Significantly" Reduces Death from Coronavirus

The Detroit News reports:

"Anti-malarial hydroxychloroquine significantly reduces the death rate of COVID-19 patients, despite efforts from the media and scientific establishment to pour scorn on what has become known around the world as the 'Trump drug'”.

"The study analyzed 2,541 patients hospitalized among the system’s six hospitals between March 10 and May 2 and found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine died while 26% of those who did not receive the drug died."

Note that these were hospitalized patients--it is more effective to treat patients with hydroxycholoquine before they are sick enough to be hospitalized and may have suffered serious damage to their bodies. No doubt the number saved would be greater except that the FDA emergency use order said patients should only be treated in the hospital--when it is often too late.

Also note that panic was spread that the drug caused dangerous heart arrhythmias but the Detroit News reported:

"The study, published in the International Society of Infectious Disease, found patients did not suffer heart-related side effects from the drug."

"The mainstream media and establishment science journals had originally distanced themselves from the drug, while doctors around the world had reported on their success in using the anti-malarial."


So why was there a campaign against using a lifesaving drug which has been safely used for decades--including studies obviously designed to make the drug look useless and dangerous? Obviously one reason was to discredit Trump, who called attention to its potential. Another reason may be to keep America locked down, destroying the economy and, they hoped, harming Trump's re-election chances. Finally, check the relationship between the various powers that be and Gilead, which is pushing its expensive drug, which has only mediocre results.

We need investigative journalism (except most journalists are corrupt leftists, who hope the drug and Trump will fail). And we need government investigations and prosecutions, as thousands of Americans have died because they were, and are, being denied a significantly effective drug.

Obviously some people are making a lot of money from Gilead's remdesivir. The US government has purchased 500,000 doses of the drug:

Furthermore: "Previously, we learned that a course of treatment [with remdesivir] in the US will cost $2,340 per patient." This for a drug which does NOT prevent deaths. Who in the FDA is profiting from this drug when a very cheap drug, hydroxychloroquine DOES prevent deaths--if only people were allowed to get it?
