You don't think Sessions shrunk away from his duties as AG?Would Barr have recused himself?I'm no expert, but the optics during Sessions tenure was not memorable. --GRA
Jeff Sessions is old school, and had no idea what he was up against.
I neither know nor care about "optics." Sessions was doing an excellent job in some respects, but his recusal was a disaster. However, Trump's reaction was worse.
And while Sessions was conned, Trump was simply weak, e.g., in letting the courts sabotage his immigration policies. He needed go the full Andy Jackson. Instead, he surrendered.
Nicholas: I don’t think Trump surrendered. It’s an act. I believe in the simple answer being the right one. He is soft on illegals because those office buildings, casinos, and hotels are not going to clean themselves. The veggies and other ingredients in those hotel and casino restaurants are not going to prep themselves. He needs the labor every bit as much as house-builders and roofers need the collection of laborers found outside the 7/11 and Home Depot each morning.
Sessions wasn't in office too long before the Russia crappola was thrown his way,so I don't know what he wanted to accomplish--whether it was reversing Holder's anti-white agenda(faint memories of Sessions suggesting something in that realm)--I don't really know, but as far as optics,Sessions speaking before Congress was worse than his decision to recuse. He made Robert Mueller sound quickwitted, when Mueller reviewed his report over a year ago. Sessions,I hope,is pro-white and anti-immigration(but I don't know that). If he is,God bless him,but Trump hates him for not acting like Barr has--which is to protect Trump. That's all I really know about Jeff Sessions. --GRA
I don't pretend to see into Trump's mind, but I suspect he may have caught a bad case of Javanka--and hydroxychoroquine can't cure that. In spite of the many disappointments, he has been far better than any Democrats. He has done a lot of deregulating with more to come. And he has stood up to China--without him we would continue to be exploited and defeated by our most dangerous enemy. Much more needs to be done to bring America back, but no way any of the alternatives would even attempt to win the war China has been waging on us for decades. As to cleaning motels, in most parts of the country they hire illegals who don't speak English and don't understand when you tell them the room is out of toilet paper. I don't buy the argument that Americans won't clean rooms. I have two college degrees but when the economy was bad I took a lousy job in a cardboard factory and then one in a pizza joint--where I often washed dishes and cleaned bathrooms. In Utah, I was pleasantly surprised to see Navajo maids instead of Mexicans. These ladies greeted me in English and I even had an interesting conversation with one of these Navajos. And one had a patriotic tee shirt supporting our military. I have also encountered pleasant white women working as maids--including traditional polygamist Mormons. Pay decent wages and Americans will do any job.
