Sharyl Attkisson: press war on HCL [10m], FDA backs down; doctors can now prescribe HCL beyond hospitals

A bit off topic but in it's own way related:

The same follow-the-money principle that drives immigration policy also drives therapeutic drug availability:

1) Attkinsson (May 17) interviews three medical experts on the press attack on HCL and then applies the follow-the-money principle to FDA decision-making as regards availability of HCL beyond hospitals (all in less than 10 minutes).

Below that: Just yesterday (May 19) the FDA has backed down on guidance limiting HCL to hospitals. They must have been under enormous pressure:

“HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE” WITH SHARYL ATTKISSON (May 17th 2020, Video and Transcript: 9m40s)

Summary: Sharyl Attkisson interviews:

Dr. William O’Neill (2m10 in) [cardiologist, director, Henry Ford Health System]: “President Trump touted it early, so the media set out to discredit it, without any regard for science.”

Dr. Steven Hatfill (4m45s in) [biomedical scientist who worked on Ebola, studies pandemic responses in medicine]: “Why are the press running medicine in the United States? . . . Lives were lost [because of the attack on HCL].”

Dr. Jane Orient, executive director, Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (6m in):

“The ones [physicians] with the most experience are very enthusiastic about the possibilities [of HCL] . . . I think you have to look at the money. There’s no big profits made in hydroxychloroquine. It’s very cheap, easy to manufacture, been around for 70 years. It’s generic . . . So I think we really do have to consider there’s some financial interest involved here.”

2) MAY 19: FDA BACKS OFF GUIDANCE LIMITING HCL TO HOSPITALS: “FDA appears to soften stance on hydroxychloroquine after Trump says he takes malaria drug,” CNBC:
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/05/19/fda-appears-to-soften-stance-on-hydroxychloroquine-after-trump-says-he-takes-malaria-drug.html

KEY QUOTE: “The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that taking hydroxychloroquine is ‘ultimately’ a choice between patients and their health-care providers, appearing to soften its earlier advisory against taking the anti-malaria drug outside of a hospital.

"‘The decision to take any drug is ultimately a decision between a patient and their doctor,’ FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn said in a statement to CNBC. ‘Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are already FDA-approved for treating malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.’”

WHAT THE FDA WAS SAYING A MONTH AGO: “...in a warning issued last month, the FDA advised consumers against taking drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19 outside a hospital or formal clinical trial due to the risk of ‘serious heart rhythm problems.’

"‘Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine can cause abnormal heart rhythms such as QT interval prolongation and a dangerously rapid heart rate called ventricular tachycardia,’ the agency wrote in the notice. ‘We will continue to investigate risks associated with the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for COVID-19 and communicate publicly when we have more information.’"

  1. Isn't Dr. Hatfill the same man accused in the Anthrax scare?

Negro male named Nicholas Deon Thrash rapes the 9 yr. old daughter of his girlfriend, impregnating her at 10, and her mother protects him: https://www.11alive.com/article/news/investigations/10-year-old-impregnated-by-mothers-boyfriend/85-a0090914-5347-4c95-9a49-6452f0e43b5e
Headline blares "10 yr. old impregnated" but the abuse started well before that, a media attempt to mitigate things a bit because it's a black man. I don't know the race of the victim but I'm guessing she's black. Momma must have been observing the don't snitch code.

Yes, he is. John Ashcroft and Bush II tried to drive him to commit suicide, but failed.
