There’s a weekend Fox News host, Jon Scott, who’s a nice guy (he was having trouble finding the right word a few times), but he did something yesterday evening that no journalist should ever do.
He permitted farmers to sing their favorite aria, “The crops are rotting in the fields!,” from Puccini’s Turandot, without singing counterpoint.
Pavarotti Singing “The Crops are Rotting in the Fields!” aria, aka “Nessun Dorma,” from Puccini’s Turandot
At least once per year, during a harvest, farmers sing us that song. Previously, it was always to support their demands for cheap, illegal alien labor.
A real journalist would have countered, “But sir, you and your colleagues have been saying the same thing, word for word, for years. How do the crops rotting in the fields under the Coronavirus differ from the crops rotting in the fields without it?”
Sarcasm and argumentative questions are reserved only for Trump--as are the non-factual interpretations of his answers.
ReplyDeleteI just read that NYC's murder and burglaries have exploded as Cuomo released hundreds or thousands of "corona frightened" prisoners.
Here, out in the NYC free air-- which, judging by city health reports, has more COVID-19 floating around than behind prison walls, murders are up 55 % from the same time last year (according to Breitbart),while auto theft and "burglaries in general have shot up 25% in the last 28 days and up 36% in the last week.Dermot Shea said "burglary suspects are getting released immediately, due to existing bail laws."
The previously jailed prisoners should not have been released and the new ones NOT released. This is a liberal fuc*up--the public should not be endangered by decisions like this--and the politicians who made these decisions should pay with their elected or assigned jobs.

If the farmers offered to pay decent wages with decent working conditions they would have no trouble getting Americans to do the job. Used to be American teenagers often did such work. Contrary to claims, wages could be increased enormously with very little increase in food prices. And maybe some of the trillions the government is shoveling out could be used for loans to buy robot harvesters and robot milkers. Anyway, the farmers don't sing as well--enjoyed the aria.
ReplyDeleteRight. Without illegals the USA is doomed. We will have to import food from China or we are all going to die.
