UCLA Prof Balks at Diversity Pledge; Second Amendment Showdown in the Old Dominion; and are Only Blacks Permitted to “Report” on TV on Black-on-White Crime?

Truth or Consequences

Note: President Donald Trump has deployed 750 members of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division to Iraq in response to protests by Iranian sympathizers that threatened the United States Embassy in Baghdad. 3000 additional troops may be sent to the Middle East in the coming days, officials say. Though Trump campaigned to draw down troops in the region, there are more American forces in the Middle East today than on January 20, 2017.

If one wants a glimpse at what higher education in the United States might look like in the years ahead, a good place to start might be Chancellor Gene Block’s University of California at Los Angeles.

Though US News and World Report rates UCLA among the finest public universities, and it accepted only 14% of more than 130,000 undergraduate applicants in 2019, generous allowances are made to students of color in an effort to “diversify” the student body.

Block (annual compensation: $600,000) also extols the hiring of foreign professors, and has been quick to accede to demands for special [N.S.: segregated] dormitories, study halls, and graduation exercises for disparate groups.

On January 8, 2019, Truth or Consequences reported that Block intended to overhaul how teachers were hired at UCLA, and that he’d also ask current faculty to pledge to “equity, diversity, and inclusion” on campus.

[N.S.: That’s an unconstitutional, political loyalty oath.]

“All regular rank faculty searches must require candidates to submit a (statement) that describes the candidate’s past, present, and future planned contributions to equity, diversity, and inclusion,” a release from Block’s office read.

But there are protections of tenure in academia, and one legal mind is making a stand.

Stephen Bainbridge, the UCLA William D. Warren Distinguished Professor and an expert in corporate law, writes, “I’m up for a raise at UCLAW and am required to submit a statement how I contribute to the university’s goals in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

“I have just emailed my statement to the administration.”

Here is most of Bainbridge’s letter (https://www.professorbainbridge.com/professorbainbridgecom/2019/12/i-submit-herewith-my-diversity-equity-and-inclusion-statement-for-my-merit-raise-at-uclaw.html):

“Although I am aware and respectful of the many dimensions within which a university properly seeks a diverse faculty and student body, I have long been particularly concerned with the lack of intellectual diversity at the law school.

“A survey of US law professors in general found that white Democratic professors (both male and female), Jewish professors, and non-religious professors ‘account for most (or all) of the over-representation among racial, gender, religious, and ideological groups in law teaching.’

“The groups that ‘account for the most under-representation among racial, gender, religious, and ideological groups in law teaching’ are Republicans (both male and female), Protestants, and Catholics.’

“At UCLA, we know that the campus as a whole leans substantially to the left.

“Conservative students at UCLA have been harrassed, stalked, and threatened.

“I recently researched the opensecrets.org donor database for political contributions made by persons who claimed UCLA School of Law as their employer. 38 of those persons contributed solely to Democratic candidates, the Democratic Party, various affiliates, and liberal PACs.

“Of the faculty who contributed exclusively to Republican candidates, the most recently hired of the two was in 1997. As a monetary matter, 92.67% of all contributions went to Democrats and affiliated groups.

“Because conservative students and students of faith often feel alienated and estranged in an environment that is so relentlessly liberal and secular, I have made particular efforts to reach out to and support such students.”

Bainbridge goes on to say, “I’ll let you know if I get the raise.”

With November election results turning the Commonwealth of Virginia from purple to blue, the Old Dominion is soon to see a showdown on the gun rights of private citizens.

Las Vegas, Nevada Metropolitan Police have arrested Darnell Rodgers, 23, for kidnapping and assault and battery.

2020 was not even an hour old when Rodgers was seen on a doorbell camera punching and kicking an unidentified woman, while a middle-aged brunette is seen running for help, screaming, “Stop, please!”

Rodgers is then heard yelling, “Get in the car! Get in the car, you f—king b—ch!”

As is now standard procedure, Las Vegas’ KLAS-TV8 assigns the story to newswoman of color Shakala Alvaranga:

Surveillance video shows man violently, throwing, kicking woman before forcing her into car
Surveillance video released by Metro Police Wednesday night shows a man grabbing a woman and throwing her to the ground after she is seen running out of a white car and away from him.

  1. Trump's sending thousands more troops overseas. This after "droning" 5 more Iranian officials tonight.
As far as blacks reporting black crime--nationally--they don't.I count one every two months on NNN,while the "White Criminal(s)of the Day" are spotlighted daily.
Locally, when black TV anchors/reporters report wanted blacks, they fail to mention the race of the perp.
Whites sometimes give the race--but it's almost as if they have a choice to do so.Certain ones will--others don't.

Almost all university and colleges in the "USA leans substantially to the left".

  3. Chancellor Gene Block

Block is Jewish -- the most important education-related story in CA is the coming push to end use of achievement tests like the SAT and ACT in UC admissions -- "diversity" devotees need to do this in order to get anything like a proportionate number of lower-achieving Hispanics into UC -- while the decline in the number of Whites in CA has in this context helped Hispanics, the relatively rapid rise in the Asian population more than cancels out any advantage that accrues to Hispanics via the decline of Whites.
