Hiding in the closet and firing when the bad guy opened the door is the thing to do to prevent a civil suit by the estate of the deceased. The estate can never make a case that the shooter was going after the home invader. It was self defense and nothing more.
ReplyDeleteEven if you are 100 % legally in the right to shoot a home invader remember you will still be sued in civil court by the estate. And sometimes the estate wins a huge settlement.
