IF YOU BUILD IT (LOW INCOME HOUSING)THEY WILL COME(LOW INCOME PEOPLE)
ReplyDeleteI posted the "top 10 ways you know you're in a ghetto",a while back.Since then,I discovered another symptom that your city is sinking in ghetto quicksand--a surge in low income apartments(LIAs) being built.
The (white)mayor in my city,Rosalynn Bliss,is a full-fledged liberal, who wants "a diverse city" and "much more housing for low income people."
Since the end of winter,in a six block area, two gigantic, low income apartment buildings are going up--about 3/4 of a mile from my house.A third LIA is under construction, about a mile from me in the opposite direction.
I've never understood why a mayor would want to build apartment complexes for the uneducated, the jobless, minorities and criminal types.
If you build it--they will come(and they don't vote for whitey).
If I was mayor,I would want to attract HIGHER INCOME,HIGHER EDUCATED PEOPLE,by bulldozing the dilapidated housing that much of Grand Rapids is now left with --and build HOUSES for working, middle class people (and higher) to buy and mold into safe neighborhoods--with a goal of raising a (hopefully, white)family.
As a side benefit, the city receives increased income and property taxes,a lower crime rate and a better city.
What's the upside of this Bliss suicide policy--that's guaranteed to increase crime, but not increase revenue?
I just don't get it.
