I love that picture. I am also completely nuts about GSDs. Fine dogs, intelligent, and the one I had when I was a kid seemed to have a sense of humor in a canine sort of way.
Quick review of the HoF inductions. 4 players (Chipper Jones,Vladimir Guerrero,Jim Thome and Trevor Hoffman) were voted in the regular way,2 others (Morris and Trammell)by the Old Timers Committee. 5 whites and one not.By stats alone, the whites from the first group belong.Guerrero only had 2590 hits and 449 HRs.Doesn't belong. Morris 254-186 with a 3.90 ERA.Doesn't. Trammell,a smooth fielding shortstop who learned to hit better as he got older, had 2365 hits,a.285 average.Compare him to Jeter-.310 average,3465 hits.Trammell doesn't belong either. Just missing,Edgar Martinez(2300 hits)Doesn't belong."Sports Illustrated" and "Sporting News" disagree with me.A great hitter for a few years, but he didn't pile the hits up for ENOUGH years.Clemens and Bonds got about 54% each.Shouldn't be let in as well. No former Mets dented the top 10. --GR Anonymous
