Saving Private Ryan Soundtrack composed by John Williams, performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Somber music for a somber movie.

John Williams is God’s gift to the movies.

When Aaron Copland (1900-1990) composed music for a movie, he would not only write stunning music, but lots of it, so that a picture like The Red Pony might contain over a solid hour of music, very little of it repeat themes. He took twice as long writing a score as the typical composer, and he demanded and got a much higher fee—and he earned every bit of it. The opening theme alone to The Red Pony is so stunning that when my 10-year-old son and I saw the picture for the first time last summer, and the opening credits cited Copland, my son said, without prompting, “Thank you, Aaron.”

Although there is a fair amount of repetition in this score, it still blows me away how many great individual themes John Williams wrote for one picture, and how powerful they are, not just the requiem. We Stix men feel the same way about seeing John Williams’ name in the credits as we do about Aaron Copland.

For the first time since the 6th or 7th season of her sitcom, Roseanne makes me laugh! I know most people who read this didn't like her original show but it was good when it focused on blue collar life and hadn't become Roseanne's personal lesbian promoting/man hating crusade. Her reboot is far below the original show in quality but is still better than most sitcom's today, I've watched it and was moderately amused but not enough to go out of my way to turn it on. However, Roseanne has finally said something genuinely funny and it may well be the end of her career. She tweeted this joke: (Valerie Jarret, former Obama aide) is like the "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby." Ha ha! Good one! It's probably the only good joke she's come up with since her early days in stand up.
Here is the story on Fox:

However, the cries to cancel her show and blacklist her are already starting and gathering momentum, she has cancelled her Twitter account and says she'll never Tweet again. Probably won't be enough though, this joke along with her supposed support for Trump may very well be the death knell of her career. I'm not sure what to make of her support for Trump, she's never explained "why" she supports him or addressed the obvious contradiction with her history of being an extreme PC liberal crusader. Kanye actually has done a better job of explaining why he supports Trump, in his own confused way that is. We'll see how this plays out, maybe Roseanne has built enough PC cred to survive this one but no matter what their history, the race based pack attack mentality toward whites is very powerful. Bill Maher, among others learned that one the hard way.

  2. Roseanne Cancelled Over "Racist"Comments about Valerie Jarrett
(CNN)ABC announced it has cancelled Roseanne Barr’s hit comedy series revival following a morning in which the star launched a tirade of racist and anti-semitic tweets.
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment chief Channing Dungey announced.

It was a day no one could have anticipated except anyone who has been online in the past decade.

Her sitcom the big story of the 2017-18 TV season and new what getting when hired her.

ABC’s announcement came hours after Roseanne announced she was “leaving” Twitter – again – after apologizing for calling former President Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett an offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.”
GRA:Just Jarrett? In reality,ABC was looking for a way to get rid of this show.Only blacks can insult whites without any worries--not vice versa.
    More on many websites.

  3. Follow up on "Roseanne"
Herman Cain, amazingly,DID NOT support ABC's decision to fire Roseanne Barr.He was on FOX at 220pm and stated what I just mentioned. His quote:"Roseanne apologized profusely and was cancelled anyways.I think ABC was looking for a reason to get rid of her."
I agree with him (because he agreed with me lol).

  4. Now that she's fired,Roseanne Barr should really let loose what she thinks.Chris Hayes, who I mentioned yesterday,is nothing but a white dummy for black ventriloquist network MSNBC,tweeted,"Valerie Jarrett will, coincidentally be a guest on our "Daily Racism" townhall meeting."
Personally,I would never comment on a person's looks--they can't help that. But anything that a person/group of people does or ascribes to,is open for discussion.
    Her career,like Michael Richards,is a wrap.

  5. As a side Barr (so to speak),Channing Dungey, the head of ABC's "Entertainment" Division--and the exec who fired Barr--is a black female. No surprise, considering the plethora of crappy black shows currently airing--including,"Blackish","Scandal","Black To Tell the Truth","$100,000 Negro Pyramid","Afro-Family Feud" etc. Thanks ABC.

  7. Roseanne Dumped by her agency
Update: Shortly after her show was cancelled by ABC/Disney, Roseanne Barr got more bad news when her talent agency also announced it was dropping her: "We are all greatly distressed by the disgraceful and unacceptable tweet from Roseanne Barr this morning," ICM said in a statement Tuesday, according to Variety.

“What she wrote is antithetical to our core values(GRA:What core values are those ICM?Corporations never quite exactly list what core values they're talking about. Why?They'd all be found to be breaking every damn one of them on a daily basis--hypocrites)both as individuals and as an agency. Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her. Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client.”
GRA:ABC said the same thing about values--all the networks do.I'd love to see a list of those values,specifics,please--and maybe on tablets for full effect and brought down from a mountain by Bob Iger (Disney CEO--who owns ABC)in full fake beard.
What this all involves,on the bottom line,is free speech. Not only free speech, but the ramifications thereof.A perfect world would let Roseanne say what she wants, produce her show, put it on TV and let the ratings decide if she should be fired. We're so far from that day, that visiting Alpha Centauti is a more probable occurrence in my lifetime.
Hopefully some day, this starts swinging the other way.
