Break Up the Mets! Team is Off to Its Best Start in 57 Seasons in the Big Leagues!

In Miami, the Amazins are threatening to win their eighth straight game. Last night, they got two home runs late, to break tie with the Marlins, and win 8-6, giving them a 9-1 record, their greatest start ever.

Tonight, they were no-hit for six innings by Marlins rookie Jarlin Garcia, and got seven two-hit innings from injury-plague Zach Wheeler, but went into the eighth losing 1-0. However, as has so often been the case during this streak, they scored four times in the eighth, to pull ahead 4-1.

Rookie manager Mickey Callaway went against the book twice in a row, leaving lefthanded sluggers Michael Conforto and new pickup Adrian Gonzalez in against a soft-tossing, lefthanded reliever, Chris O'Grady. Conforto hit a run-scoring double, and Gonzalez hit a run-scoring single.

There’s one out in the bottom of the ninth, and Callaway just brought in former Marlin A.J. Ramos to close it out.
