The Film Noir for this Sunday, September 10, at 10 a.m. ET on TCM is 711 Ocean Drive (1950).

Edmond O'Brien stars as a bookmaker who was formerly an honest telephone company employee. He uses his technical knowledge to blackmail his bosses and get control of the operation. O'Brien also goes after the wife (Joanne Dru) of a syndicate henchman.

O'Brien is good as a nice guy who gets corrupted when he tries to “beat the house.” 711 Ocean Drive is longer than the typical noir and drags in places.

The Host, Eddie Muller, has described Edmond O'Brien as an actor whose character often perspires.

Harrowing video of a negro attempting to rape a woman in Manhattan. Victim was blurred out so you can't tell her race though she fought him off by biting his hand and screaming. The attempted rape occurred in 2016 but this video was released much later. I don't know why that is, maybe the cops have got negro rape investigations on the back burner, must be too busy with the epidemic of hate crimes. The video actually gives a pretty clear view of his face, if local media outlets give this one enough coverage seems like omebody should recognize him, though the don't snitch code in the black community might protect him.

  2. Real life noir in Grand Rapids--Double homicide Saturday morning.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are tracking down leads on a double homicide that started as a response to a traffic crash early Saturday morning.

“We do have two individuals that are deceased. How they became that way is basically a who-done-it at this point,” GRPD Sgt. John Wittkowski told 24 Hour News 8 on scene.

Officers were flagged down around 1:47 a.m. after a car ran through a fence and into a tree at the dead end of Graham Street west of Division Avenue. That’s just north of the Franklin and Division intersection.(GRA:This is 99.9% negro area. The original ghetto that burned in the 67 riots).

Witnesses told investigators the car drove through the intersection “at a high rate of speed” and then crossed through the parking lot behind the Franklin Big Save liquor store before crashing.

When officers checked the vehicle, they found a 27-year-old man in the driver’s seat with at least two gunshot wounds. A second gunshot victim, identified as a 23-year-old man, was found about 50 yards away under a trailer parked in the parking lot.(GRA:Obvious "black on two blacks" crime.A double murder, and the driver was trying to dispose of the bodies--but he effs up and wrecks his car.)

“From all indications he was the passenger in the vehicle. If he fell out, he was pushed out, he tried to get out — we’re not entirely sure. It appears at some point as they’re going through the lot he gets ejected from the vehicle. We don’t know. He was wedged underneath the trailer and if it wasn’t for the officer looking underneath, he probably wouldn’t have seen him right away,” Sgt. Wittkowski said, adding, “There’s no indication that the shooting actually happened in this area. Whether it happened in the vehicle or another location it remains to be seen at this point.”

Now investigators are faced with tracking a murder suspect without an exact location.

“There were no reports of shots fired or anything in the immediate area, so we’ve checked hospitals for other victims. Nothing at this point,” Sgt. Wittkowski said.

The Grand Rapids Police Department’s Major Case team is investigating.
GRA:If this is like the other 10 murders(minimum)they're trying to solve from this year (one arrest I believe),don't hold your breath waiting for them to solve it.

  3. Additional note:This double murder very easily could have been committed on my side of Grand Rapids (now that its been inundated with blacks)and may even be related to the driveby shooting of the
West side house I noted earlier in the week. Will give further details if they are interesting.

  4. This week's Film Noir is In a Lonely Place (1950) at 10 am ET on Sunday, September 17.

Our host, Eddie Muller, calls it "my favorite film of all time." Humphrey Bogart plays a violence-prone screenwriter who becomes the top suspect when a hatcheck girl is killed. Gloria Graham co-stars.

This film was described as a realistic look at the "industry." At one point, somebody says "most writers are just popcorn salesmen."

Supposedly, Bogart plays a character more like his real-life self in this movie than at any other time.
