NEW YORK (AP) — CNN chief Jeff Zucker says the level of threats faced by his journalists is more serious than people realize. He lays the blame squarely at the feet of President Donald Trump and other politicians who try to delegitimize the press.
[The press has delegitimized itself, and it is entirely responsible for the hatred directed at it, not to mention the hatred it has incited against GOP pols in general, and the President in particular.]
Zucker on Thursday called it unconscionable and said they should know better.
CNN has frequently been the target of Trump's complaints about fake news, and anti-CNN chants were heard at some of Trump's campaign rallies last year.
Still, Zucker said CNN is still pushing for a Trump interview and will continue to air the daily press briefing. He also defended the employment of Trump surrogates that have received criticism, like Jeffrey Lord.
[Talk about disinformation! Attacks on the press have been surging in recent years, but the perps are anything but Trump supporters. Then attackers, robbers, and thieves are typically the very people the media are bending over backwards for—blacks.]
Cosby update:What's the meaning of the words,"reasonable doubt"? (Or "is",is)
ReplyDelete(Wire services)After arriving at an impasse a day earlier, the jurors in Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial have asked the judge to clarify the definition of "reasonable doubt."
Following six days of testimony and closing arguments, the 12-person jury in Cosby's trial are in their fifth day of deciding whether the famed comedian is guilty of giving drugs to and molesting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004.
While officials did not comment on the state of the deliberations, the jurors did not go back to the judge with any more questions or requests to relisten to more testimony for more than ten hours before asking the judge to clarify the meaning of "reasonable doubt" on Friday morning.

Jeronimo Yanez, the Minnesota police officer who fatally shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop last year, was found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter Friday.
ReplyDeleteHe also was acquitted of two counts of intentional discharge of firearm that endangers safety.
Castile's death garnered widespread attention -- and sparked nationwide protests over the use of force by police -- after his girlfriend broadcast the shooting's aftermath on Facebook Live.

Several members of the Castile family screamed profanities and cried after the verdicts were announced, despite warnings from the judge that everyone in the courtroom should remain composed.
"Let me go!" yelled Castile's mother, Valerie.
The families of Castile and Yanez were escorted out of separate courtroom exits. At least 13 officers were present in the small courtroom when the verdicts were read.

Psychological Projection.....
ReplyDeleteThe Left uses it on a regular basis now. Some examples: Blaming Trump for collusion,
obstruction of Justice, using his position to make money, ect. When they wrote the book on such subjects. Perhaps conservatives should project onto Libs what we are:
tolerant, critical thinking, patriotic, ect.
But everyone would know that wasn't true.
