Michael Slager’s lawyer, Andy Savage, just informed me five minutes ago of this development. This shows the power of the federal government to coerce defendants into guilty pleas.
This afternoon Michael Slager will enter a guilty plea to using excessive force in violation of 18 USC Section 242 as he attempted to arrest Walter Scott on April 4, 2015.
We hope that Michael’s acceptance of responsibility will help the Scott family as they continue to grieve their loss.
As a sentencing date has not yet been determined, we will refrain from further comment at this time.
Give him 6 months.Certainly he shouldn't go to jail longer than people who kill someone with a vehicle (under the influence of drugs or alcohol).
ReplyDeleteThe Alton Scott case against Baton Rouge police was dropped for insufficient evidence.Scott had a gun ,that he was likely reaching for.
Lesta covered it all,in his slanted way, along with the Adam Jones/Fenway Park controversy.
All black news. Are we to believe Jones is the only player of any race to be insulted by fans?I remember reading stories of how Babe Ruth was roasted alive in the World Series at Wrigley Field--the most obscene words concocted. It's part of making 10 million a year,Adam. What's worse--hearing the "N" word from whites or being a white person killed by a black racist?

Adam Jones may well be the most racist active player in baseball.
ReplyDeleteI had read part of the plea bargain was that the man would NOT be tried in state court.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the correction.
