A few minutes ago, news reader Dan Marino, on WPIX11 News, announced that Sheila Abdus-Salaam was found floating in the Hudson River, in Upper Manhattan.
‘She was the nation’s first Muslim, female, African-American judge.’ (I used single quotes because I’m paraphrasing. But Marino’s scriptwriter dredged up every possible adjective, all of which, thanks to racial socialist alchemy, metamorphosed into superlatives.)
“She was known as a ‘trailblazer’ and a ‘pioneer.’”
(She actually wasn’t a Moslem. That was the last name of the first of the three husbands of the former Sheila Turner. Abdus-Salaam never converted to Islam, but many reports of her death identified her as a Moslem, and thus as the “first Muslim woman…”.)
Abdus-Salaam was a judge on the New York State Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court.
New York Times: “Then that afternoon, there was a terrible discovery: The judge's body floating, fully clothed and with no apparent signs of trauma, in the Hudson River.”
Instead of a story of murder or suicide, we have an affirmative action cheerleading story. And PIX was two days late.
Here’s a more accurate version of the death of Sheila Abdus-Salaam.
High-Level Job Thief Found Dead in the Drink; No Signs of Foul Play
A corpse fished out of the Hudson in Upper Manhattan at 2 p.m. on Wednesday proved to be that of 65-year-old Sheila Abdus-Salaam. Abdus-Salaam showed no signs of trauma, and police believe that she had committed suicide, though they continue to investigate her death.
Abdus-Salaam got into Barnard College via affirmative action in 1970, where she enjoyed massive grade inflation and a free ride, graduating in 1974.
She then got another free ride at Columbia University Law School, where she got an affirmative action, Charles Evans Hughes Fellowship.
Following law school, Abdus-Salaam received one fat job after another on a silver platter. Had she lived a few more years, she would have been named the first blah, blah, blah Chief Justice of the New York State Court of Appeals.
Old school court watchers were known to snicker in private to trusted friends, “Judge Abdus-Salaam is the finest leftwing, Muslim, female, African-American judge on the New York State Court of Appeals.”
At press time, there was no word on the fates of the qualified people who were passed over on behalf of Turner/Abdus-Salaam.

ReplyDeleteAlong the lines of affirmative action, I had recently sent a list of local blacks that had failed spectacularly in high level administrative positions here in my city. I'd like to add a couple of names:
Paul Scarlett
William A. Hillard
Paul Scarlett was appointed director of Development Services in Portland and somehow lasted 12 yrs. in the position despite a terrible job performance. http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2017/04/portland_commissioner_chloe_eu.html
The general incompetence is typical of negroes but one constant jumps out at me: The atmosphere of "retaliation" that existed in the department was toxic to the extreme. Getting back at people and being combative and defensive is something that comes up with all these affirmative action negroes in government jobs. This Scarlett was no exception. Interestingly, he was fired by Chloe Eudaly, a business owner that ran for city commissioner on a liberal platform, somebody who usually finds reasons to keep affirmative action employees around. He must have been pretty bad. She also fired Amalia Alarcon de Morris, a woman of "color" who was the director of Neighborhood Involvement.
Note: Scarlett received a 183,000 dollar payout to go away. de Morris received 144,000 to leave. Damn, I'm in the wrong business.
Paul A. Hilliard was editor for the Oregonian from 1987-1994. I don't recall any stories about him being bad at management though he's in the private sector not a government job so I doubt he was completely incompetent but I do know he was responsible for the Oregonian adopting a policy of not mentioning race when criminals are identified, it's mentioned in the story: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/20/business/media/william-hilliard-dead-editor-of-oregonian.html?_r=0
Also, the late 80's and early 90's was the era in which I noticed the Oregonian moved away from having some credibility as a newspaper that actually reported real news and wasn't completely corrupted by the diversity agenda. During the Hilliard years the Oregonian became nothing but a front for politically correct ideology, any trace of legitimate journalistic integrity completely disappeared.
I'm in the wrong business.
