Donald Trump, fresh off the most presidential speech of his political career, has gone back into full Mad Online mode with a dash of conspiratorial delusion, sending out an early morning series of tweets accusing Barack Obama tapping his phones.
In the tweets, which apparently took aides by surprise, Trump suggested that Obama personally ordered American intelligence to tap the phones at Trump Tower during the election. He didn't provide evidence of the claims however.

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!

I'd bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!

According to the Washington Post, the inspiration for this recent tweetstorm is believed to be this Breitbart post, which had been circulating around White House staff, building on talk radio host Mark Levin's case that Obama used "police state" tactics to undermine the Trump presidency from the get-go. White House aides thought that today, with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, would be a "quiet, down day."
A former senior intelligence official told the paper that it was extremely unlikely that Trump Tower was wiretapped. If it was though, the source told the paper, “that means that a federal judge would have found that there was either probable cause that he had committed a crime or was an agent of a foreign power.” The source also told the Post that "you can't just go around and tap buildings."
A former Obama top aide also disputed the idea that Obama was personally involved in ordering a wire tap at Trump Tower:
Ben Rhodes

No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you [meaning Trump]. https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/837989835818287106 …

[Garbage. All “Obama” would have had to do is tell Loretta Lynch to take care of it. It’s not clear that he isn’t still committing such crimes, via his plants at the DOJ, FBI, etc. Ben Rhodes was not honestly responding to Pres. Trump, he was just insulting him. Rhodes is so notorious for his combination of arrogance and ignorance that even MSM supporters of “Obama,” like Thomas Ricks, despised him.]
While Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon were apparently not in Mar-a-Lago as of this morning, they may fly down after today's fireworks. The Washington Post's Robert Costa also reported on Twitter that Bannon was all-in for Trump's war with America's intelligence agencies:

Bannon is working closely with Trump on combating what he calls the "deep state" in intel comm, per multiple people at WH

Having uncovered possibly the greatest scandal of our era, the president of the United States then moved on to more important things, starting a fight with Arnold Schwarzenegger over Celebrity Apprentince ratings.

Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't voluntarily leaving the Apprentice, he was fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings, not by me. Sad end to great show

• So regarding the source of your evidence, we are to have blind faith in shady agencies with a long and storied history of lying. But what about the content of your evidence, by what means exactly did Russia influence the election?
