Remember the Papa John’s Murder of Gordon Schaffer in Columbia, Tennessee? WEJB/NSU’s David in TN is Still on the Case! (Update)

War crime victim Gordon Schaffer, 22

Suspected war criminal Darious Fitzpatrick, though only 17 at the time of the war crime in 2014, was already a violent career criminal with several felony convictions as a juvenile; his example is spurring calls for juvenile justice reform in Tennessee

Suspected war criminal Kevoyeh Pye

The newest suspected war criminal is Majestick Alveleano Gillespie

By David in TN

There was no hearing today (February 9) for Majestik Gillespie. It took two hours to find this out. I went by the Circuit Court Office and a motions hearing for Darious Fitzpatrick is scheduled for March 3. The trial date for Fitzpatrick in the murder of Gordon Schaffer is (for now) June 26.

[N.S.: The previous night, David had written,]

I'm going to attend the Gillespie hearing tomorrow morning. If I can, I'll go by the Circuit Court Office and see if I can find out about a trial date for Fitzpatrick.

Good point about the media blackout after the initial publicity. Remember the Pearcy Massacre? The same thing.

[N.S. I long ago lost count of how many times David has driven out to the court house, in search of information on this case, or to attend scheduled hearings, which rarely seem to take place. It’s a thankless job, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for his time and labors.
Aside from defendants and victims’ families, court houses are full every day with people who are there, because they are paid to be. David is there, because he’s on a mission.]

  1. To David in Tennessee. Thank you, from another David who used to reside in Nashville.

  2. Yes, this is the third time (I think) a scheduled hearing didn't take place. I sat through over two hours of what was "on the docket" as the judge said. It was mostly drug offenders, probationers, a black career criminal in his forties, a misbehaving state trooper, and some DUI defendants. Gillespie never showed.

Before court opened at 9 am, I sat on a bench outside. Across from me was a lady lawyer who looked to be in her late twenties. She wore a short skirt and had long, beautiful legs. Her client was one of the probationers.

  3. Good job David, staying on a story that could happen anywhere,to anyone,at anytime.Keep telling us what's really happening in the case. It's important the truth comes out.We all know cases like this are censored by the press,as they prefer to downplay black crime.
    Kudos.

  4. Gillespie and Fitzpatrick. The two Irishmen. The damned Irish seem to do a lot of bad stuff.

  5. Tomorrow is March 3. There is supposed to be a "motions hearing" for Darious Fitzpatrick. I plan on attending. Will there actually be a hearing this time?
