Gee, I wonder what sort of folks “‘hostile armed’ people at a dormitory” might be.

“Shelter order” is Newspeak for “lockdown.”

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — The University of Massachusetts says there's a report of one or two possible "hostile armed" people at a dormitory on its Amherst campus and is ordering people to shelter in place.

The university says on its website campus police have secured a perimeter around Pierpoint Hall.

There are no reports of injuries following Thursday night's warning. No other information is available.

[Warnings do not usually issue in “injuries.” Gunfire and bludgeonings often do, however.]
