Kentucky Senator Rand Paul will be suspending his presidential campaignWednesday [sic], CNN reports.
The news network quotes sources close to the senator, as saying staff are expected to be notified Wednesday morning.
Paul finished in fifth place in the Iowa Caucuses, picking up less than 5% of the vote, and only one convention delegate. He was also polling poorly in New Hampshire, where a UMass Lowell/7News poll released Wednesday morning showed him in ninth place with only 2% support among likely voters.
Paul, who was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010, is up for re-election this year.
