The “Ferguson Effect” in 2015

All you need to know is that the two major cities that saw the biggest numerical increase in homicides in 2015 over 2014 were the two cities where there were or near very recent black riots: Baltimore and St. Louis.
And that speaks to what the Ferguson Effect, (really, the Cincinnati Effect, first noticed after its 2001 riots here and here), is about. It's not so much about retreating or trigger shy cops, it's about an amped up charged up radicalized racialized black undertow, taking out the tribal exuberance they experienced after their victory riots out on mostly each other, for about a 2-3 year time period after the riots.
