Selena Died 20 Years Ago — Why We’re Still Talking About Her Mark on American Culture
By A Texas Reader
I remember her murder vividly. She got gunned down inside a pickup truck by a fellow Latina. Jealousy I guess. Or Mexican family values.
Anyways, I used to celebrate Selena's passing. I'd run around the offices of Deloitte & Touche, my former employer, shouting, "Selena forever! Selena's dead forever! Selena forever! Selena's dead forever!"
Gee, I wonder why I got fired?
