Firefighter Loses Job for Wearing Anti-Affirmative Action Shirts

A Brooklyn firefighter has been fired for “malicious” conduct. He wore anti-affirmative action sentiments on his sleeve.
Thomas Buttaro, a firefighter since the late 90’s, wore shirts with phrases like “Merit Matters” and “MADD – Minorities Against Dumbing Down” on them more than 50 times during a 10-month period in 2012, according to sources.
“He was creating a hostile work environment in the firehouse,” according to one source. “It was so disruptive, it was causing problems.”
[Translation: Racist, AA black fire persons were causing disruptions at work.]
Buttaro allegedly wore other anti-affirmative actions [sic] shirts insinuating that minorities didn’t earn their way into the department.
[And guess what? He’s right!]
Merit Matters isn’t just a slogan. It’s a group that’s pushing for merit in FDNY testing as opposed to giving minorities an advantage over white people.
Buttaro, a white male, maintains that he did nothing wrong.
“Our attire, off-duty to and from work, has never been regulated,” he said.
“Rules are that at work, you have to be in proper attire. Our locker room is on the second floor. We have to be in proper attire by roll call. Not before, not when you get to work, not when you leave.”
An administrative court judge recommended Buttaro’s termination for “malicious actions that were in the firehouse intended to harm and humiliate a fellow firefighter” as well as other reasons related to discrimination.
“You’re supposed to respect differences of opinion,” Buttaro said. “You can’t just say you’re offended … it deflects a discussion.”

This guy pushed his luck. While he may have had a point he should have shut up and pursued other avenues to speak about his issues in his off time. In the previous article on this site (http://downtrend.com/vsaxena/j... the Admin Judge was also quoted referring to repeated instances of insubordination. Since he was told to stop wearing the shirts he should have shut up. For instance, he could have used a social media account to post his opinions when off duty. He was warned, I have no sympathy for him.

Unfortunately, you’re mistaken. He would also have been fired for that. A fire department employee in the Carolinas, Crystal Eschert, was recently fired for criticizing anti-white racism on Facebook. Other NYC firemen have also been fired for expressing themselves off-duty. There is no off-duty freedom, and no First Amendment for white public sector workers.
P.S. That was an administrative court judge who ruled against Buttaro. A few years ago, the City of New York extorted $2,300 per family in false water charges against us and our neighbors. (The city had for years been sending the bills to the wrong address, and they went back to the Dead Letter Office. They finally corrected the address, and charged us not only the amount due (app. $56,000 for 24 families) but 100% in "surcharges" (another $56,000) and still more in "fines" ($850 per month). It’s one of the scams the city engages in to cheat families in predominantly white neighborhoods.
We all chipped in and hired a lawyer, but he told us we’d never win, because the city’s administrative court judges always side with the city.
