Not only less crime but better neighborhoods because the houses get taken care of.., the trash gets taken out...the lawn gets mowed...the porches aren t full of lazy criminal types night and day.., rap music isn t blasting...cars aren t parked the wrong way in front of the house...the amount of people going up and down the steps at all hours doesn t happen...fights don t occur on a regular basis. This all I learned personally in the Grand Rapids area as blacks and mexicans have swept over the city.I wonder why the mayor and other politicians allow this to happen by letting rental property be dispersed to every section 8 loser that shows up in this city.It s a sure way to destroy your town. Most of these people don t have a clue as to how to live respectfully in a neighborhood. Its sad to see firsthand.
Just wanted to add to my above comment..., the scam is(in this case) the mexican woman moved in next door with 3 kids(it was quiet) but soon after a boyfriend moved in(and all hell broke loose).Sitting on the porch at 2,3,4 am drinking and playing loud music.I went out and told them this is not the way this neighborhood is.The boyfriend came over and stood right in my face and said I"had to show him some respect".I said I ve lived here 30 years longer than you--you show ME respect and close up this party ". That was just the start of events involving drugs, guns, threats of shootings domestic violence .The landlord was informed.I taped the loud fights...called silent observer. The landlord said she couldn t prove he was living there and couldn t evict. (it would break the lease if he did).I videotaped the guy went to the neighborhood association and finally found out --by luck who he was--a multiple felon. He finally was told to leave but when he did he slashed 2 of my tires on his 2nd to last night. So what happened then? His brother---a sex offender moved in.I got the whole family evicted 2 months ago. When the landlord went in to clean up, the place had 100 bags of garbage in the basement and the walls were smashed. The landlord says she ll do better on the next tenant.I hope so for both our sakes.
I also want to say on my other side a black woman, her brother and 5 kids moved in (April 1st-i know ) I found out she s section 8 and clueless about running a house. When putting people in a house the landlord should know if the tenants have any way monetarily to TAKE CARE OF THE HOUSE they re living in.That means own a lawn mower, have money to put in a trash pickup account.I had to talk to the landlord about all of this plus a 10 person fight they had on my front lawn Memorial Day weekend at 10pm.I watched that from my house and would ve called the cops but I was hoping they d all shoot each other. Finally they got scared that someone would call the cops and they took off.I taoed the fight, took it to the landlord. She seemed sympathetic and said keep her informed. I M going to talk to her Monday as I ve noticed no trash is being put on the curb for pickup but is being stored in the garage. With 7 people in the house(plus frequent visitors) the trash must be tremendous.Basically they re lazy pigs who can t do what is needed to take care of a house. This is normal now in Grand Rapids.Police tell people to stay off certain streets after 6pm.Ten years ago it was not like this...and yet all we hear is GR is an All American city.Bullsh-t...it s a ghetto.
