People—especially tenured social b.s. artists and journalists—like to feel smart, by offering fancy “explanations” of human behavior, and sometimes they may be right, but much of the time, the explanation is much simpler: He did it, because he could, or because that’s the way he is.

Cops have in recent years been leaders in giving “explanations” of crimes so specious that they ought to get tenured professorships in journalism schools. An unprovoked, racially motivated, black-on-white attack becomes a “fight,” or arose out of “a verbal dispute.”

In this case, the cops have floated Aazis Richardson’s ridiculous cover story for murdering Cabbie Vincent Darbenzio: Richardson “thought a Pennsylvania taxi driver was taking a long route to charge him extra money.”

Likewise, Chicago Tribune reader Mr. Chimp commented,

Look like the cabbie was driving the shortest direction. The kid seems to have wanted to divert the cabbie to a out of the way direction so he could do that "cold-blooded, satanic" robbery. Glad they caught him.

Richardson robbed Darbenzio of every cent he had on him ($500), and murdered him. Robbing and killing Darbenzio was likely Richardson’s plan, from the get-go. This is one of the many reasons why taxi drivers of all races avoid picking up black males. The others are: They virtually never tip, and they often skip out on paying their fare.

A 16-year-old has been arrested for shooting a cabbie twice in the back of the head when the driver didn’t follow directions, Pennsylvania authorities said.

Aazis Richardson admitted as much to a horde of reporters as officers in Scranton led him down a hallway at police department headquarters. "That's what I do to people that don't listen," the handcuffed suspect said, according to The Times-Tribune.

The teen was charged with murder and robbery on Friday and is being held at the Lackawanna County Prison without bail.

When reporters asked Richardson if he killed the cab driver, 47-year-old Vincent Darbenzio, he replied "yeah," video of the perp walk shows.

Richardson was picked up by the driver at about 3 a.m. Friday, police said. When the driver didn't follow his directions, the teen fired two shots to the back of Darbenzio's head.

“The body of cabbie Vincent Darbenzio was found slumped behind the wheel in Scranton, Pa. Aazis Richardson, 16, told cops and reporters he shot the driver because ‘That’s what I do to people that don’t listen.’”

Police said the shooter took $500 from Darbenzio's pocket and fled.

Richardson was found hiding in an attic, officers said. They found him by tracing the phone number used to call the cab.

Richardson also admitted he was a member of the Boyton Boys gang in Newark, N.J., and is a suspect in a triple homicide there, police said. Authorities are investigating that claim.
